2002 Soybean Response Data & Analysis

4-Year Economic Summary
The combined four years of the Martinsville, Illinois trial demonstrate the importance of Pellet Lime in fertility programs as an element additive (calcium and magnesium if dolomitic is used) in addition to serving as a pH management tool. The yield boosts strongly support the value of applying Pellet Lime as a means for maximizing soybean production profits.

Discussion
This year’s soybean yields continue to show positive results at both Iowa and Illinois locations. The Pellet Lime/potash treatments at Eldora and Martinsville had increased yields of 7.1 and 18.02 bushels/acre respectfully over the non-treated control plots. Treatment 1 is an example of a “Soybean Fertilizer” often recommended in many areas of the Midwest. The micro-ground particles in Pellet Lime are a key factor to the effectiveness of the product.

Test notes: Eldora, IA; CEC 20; OM 3.1%; pH 6.0; P2O5 15ppm; K2O 159ppm; Martinsville, IL;
CEC 10, OM 1.6; pH 6.6; P2O5 27ppm; K2O 117ppm.

Alfalfa...
Pellet Lime increased harvested tonnage in all test years; crude protein content is significantly higher in the treated 2003 trials. Tests show improved seeding establishment and early plant health with Pellet Lime.

Soybeans...
Nine out of ten years soybeans treated with Pellet Lime significantly out yielded non-treated soybeans and netted big profits.

Wheat...
Pellet Lime applications with wheat successfully increased wheat quality and yield.

Corn...
Test results show a positive response to broadcast Pellet Lime.

Grass/Legume...
A 200 lb/ A Pellet Lime application out-yielded the control by over 2 ton/acre in our first year's testing.
