2001 Soybean Response Data & Analysis

Yield LSD (P=0.05) 6.408; Test Weight LSD (P=0.05) 1.09; Test Notes: CEC 11; OM 2.15%; soil water pH 6.52; P2O5 26ppm; K2O 145ppm; silty clay loam; 4 replications; Economic Summary (3-Year Average) - Estimated Net Return / Acre from Treatments (Calculated by subtracting the cost of the treatment from the bushel return greater than the control); ($4.30/bushel cash price at local elevator).
Discussion
Now in our third year for this trial, the Pellet Lime/potash treatment increased soybean yields 12 bushels/acre over the non-treated control plots. Similarly, the pelletized lime treated plot yields were quite decisive as compared to the MAP and Potash mixture treatments. Treatment 1 is an example of the MPC program used in many areas of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Kentucky, Iowa, Ohio, Nebraska and Wisconsin. Also, note the difference in soybean test weight. The Pelletized Lime treated plots recorded a significantly higher test weight than the other treatments.
Economic Summary
The combined three years of this trial demonstrate the importance of Pellet Lime in a fertility program as an element additive in addition to being a pH management tool. The yield boosts strongly support the value of applying Pellet Lime as a means for maximizing soybean production profits.

Alfalfa...
Pellet Lime increased harvested tonnage in all test years; crude protein content is significantly higher in the treated 2003 trials. Tests show improved seeding establishment and early plant health with Pellet Lime.
Soybeans...
Nine out of ten years soybeans treated with Pellet Lime significantly out yielded non-treated soybeans and netted big profits.
Wheat...
Pellet Lime applications with wheat successfully increased wheat quality and yield.
Corn...
Test results show a positive response to broadcast Pellet Lime.
Grass/Legume...
A 200 lb/ A Pellet Lime application out-yielded the control by over 2 ton/acre in our first year's testing. |
